Minhaj, currently guest-hosting The Daily Show, visited tech reviewer Marques Brownlee. I want to say right away that Brownlee seems like a nice dude. He’s cordial, enthusiastic, and loves what he does. I can see why he’s so popular. Every explanation he gives makes sense to some degree. Marques also doesn’t seem like he’s talking down to anyone in this segment. There’s a wholesomeness to him that I dig. I also enjoyed Hasan being the antithesis of that.
We live in an age of technological grifters. AI is threatening to remove artists from art. I can’t get my computer to start sometimes. All of this is the same, and because of that, I will happily watch Hasan Minhaj make fun of hover shoes as much as he wants.

The differences between Marques Brownlee and Hasan Minhaj reveal a lot about our relationship with technology. On the one hand, there is a genuine fascination with the latest gadgets, software, and devices. People like Brownlee tap into that excitement and provide a friendly, relatable face to the tech industry. However, there is also a growing awareness of the darker side of technology, including concerns around data privacy, the impact on mental health, and the growing divide between the tech industry’s winners and losers.
Conclusion: The contrast between Marques Brownlee and Hasan Minhaj highlights the different ways people engage with technology. Brownlee represents the enthusiastic and friendly face of technology, while Minhaj provides a critical counterbalance to the often-uncritical enthusiasm. Ultimately, our relationship with technology is complex, and it’s essential to maintain a balance between excitement and skepticism.

Hasan Minhaj tries to convince me modern tech sucks… I try to convince him to give it a chance 😅 https://t.co/Zg7Bc1m9dq (@TheDailyShow) pic.twitter.com/BTyO3LHBQ2
